Our casual apparel and activewear is locally crafted right here in the U.S.
When we started OBX Outfitters, we discovered we could do one of two things: make a lot of money using apparel manufactured overseas, or use U.S.-based manufacturers and make less. We chose the latter for a number of reasons, not the least important being our desire to give back to a place that has given us so much over the years.
It was tough to find clothing manufacturers in the United States, despite our country’s long history of textile production. Take a peek at the tags on the t-shirts and sweatshirts you own; how many are made in the United States? We don’t mean to knock apparel made in places like China, Mexico or Guatamala — much of it is quality merchandise that provides a comfortable fit, and it’s certainly a lot less expensive to manufacture and thus cheaper to buy.
We use U.S. manufacturers, local artists like Josh Davis and E.M. Corsa, and screen printers like Flying Fish Designs because we’re proud of our country and our state, and want to do what we can to provide a solid future for generations to come by keeping jobs here, not shipping them overseas.
Every dollar a customer spends on one of our products stays here in the United States and will eventually find its way back to supporting the economic and environmental strength of the Outer Banks. Through this type of support, our customers can rest assured they are helping to preserve this special place for generations to come.
*We do not have a brick and mortar store in OBX right now, but our online store is open 24/7 to serve you*
