Wearable Art Featuring E.M. Corsa

Beloved Outer Banks artist E.M. Corsa has a loyal following both in private and corporate  collections, domestically and internationally. The recipient of numerous awards, Corsa has a passion for art and nature, giving birth to vivid watercolors portraying both wild and domestic animals.

Beach Bunny is one of the designs in our Wearable Art line of casual apparel featuring local artists from around North Carolina. We introduced this line at the First Annual Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival in October 2012 with three t-shirt designs by Corsa and Joshua Davis from Raleigh. While Corsa’s Beach Bunny was a hit with the ladies at the event, Davis marked the mix of music and ocean breezes with his “Bluegrass At the Beach” in addition to his “Find Your Happy Place ORV” design celebrating the favorite, yet quickly disappearing, pastime of driving an off-road vehicle on the beaches of the Outer Banks.

OBX Outfitters is continuing with outreach to arts organizations and is looking to expand its working relationships with local artists.

The designs by Liz and Josh helped launch our Wearable Art line, which we created specifically to shine the spotlight on the diverse arts community in North Carolina from the mountains to the sea. As this line continues to evolve, OBX Outfitters will be working to include more local artists to help residents and visitors recognize the incredible — yet sometimes overlooked — art in our own backyard. We’re truly honored to have the opportunity to work with some of North Carolina’s talented artists and share their creations with others.

Davis splits time between drawing and painting and teaching art history to high school students, having developed a passion for the latter while earning a BS in Art Education from Appalachian State University. Casual apparel and activewear company OBX Outfitters™ has joined the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce to help grow its business and provide opportunities to contribute to the economic stability of the local business community. OBX Outfitters™ is utilizing new contacts through the Chamber to reach out to area retailers who might be interested in selling the company’s Made-in-NC, USA clothing, as well as issuing a call for Outer Banks artists interested in working on designs for expanding clothing lines. “The Chamber has been fantastic in welcoming us into the fold and connecting us with leaders in the Outer Banks business community,” Stacy Menzies, OBX Outfitters™ president said, adding, “We’ve already had several productive meetings with area retailers who we have approached about selling our apparel.
